MADRID, 14 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM) announced this Thursday that it wants to “guarantee” the dispute of the Spanish Cup, this weekend in Irun, despite the conflict that has arisen in recent days with ASOBAL.
“The first thing that must prevail is the general interest of Spanish handball and its fans, leaving aside the possible discrepancies between the agents linked to this sport,” insists the Federation, after speaking in the morning in the voice of its president Francisco V. Blázquez.
In the same line as its top leader, the RFEBM note recalls that its “sole objective is the promotion and promotion” of handball “as well as the creation of projects that serve for its development and the bond and loyalty of its followers.”
“Our sport cannot afford to appear in the media, based on an exchange of statements, which only serve to generate a climate of tension and skepticism that we should not allow,” points out the Federation.
For this reason, the RFEBM points out that the Spanish Cup should be held as approved in its General Assembly “although, with another name, which had to be modified due to the unilateral demand of the Asobal Professional League” and, furthermore, “out of respect for the fans, who have the right to be able to enjoy a high-level competition and the institutions” of Irun.
Thus, the Federation says that “it has enabled the appropriate means for the 2023 Spanish Cup to be held, as planned, with the best conditions for athletes and spectators.” “The RFEBM has taken the appropriate steps to unblock this situation, without this implying the renunciation of federative rights and interests,” he says.
“We regret that the Asobal Professional League does not understand that its ways of pressuring and interfering in the organization of this tournament are causing a major deterioration in the image of our sport, especially taking into consideration that they are not legitimized for the organization and exploitation of the Spanish Cup”, he concludes.
