The RFEA Governing Board ratifies the liquidation of the 2023 budget at 16.1 million euros

The Governing Board of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) has ratified this Saturday, in a meeting held electronically, the settlement of the 2023 budget at 16.1 million euros.

During the first Government Meeting of 2024, chaired by President Raúl Chapado, the management report corresponding to the year 2023 and the review of the measures implemented since the previous Assembly in November were presented.

The Board confirmed a positive provisional settlement of the previous year's budget, reaching 16.1 million euros, which represents an increase of 4.6% compared to the 15.4 million budgeted at the 2023 General Assembly. Thus, The green light was given to the budget project for the current year, which will soon be presented to the Higher Sports Council (CSD) for approval.

From a sporting perspective, the Board of Directors adopted modifications to the 2024 sports calendar project, highlighting the selection of Don Benito (Badajoz) as the next venue for the Spanish Master 5 km Road Championship, scheduled for April 20. The draft calendar for the 2025 season was also approved.

In another order of things, the proposal of the Master Athletics Commission was approved and Fernando Marquina Alonso was awarded the 'Marina Hoernecke Award', with which he wants to recognize his dedication and passion for Master Athletics. In addition, the athlete Ricardo Rosado was recognized for his noble gesture of assisting a competitor during the Malaga marathon in December.
