It has been just over two months since the judge acquitted him of the alleged crime of drug trafficking of which he was accused by the Madrid Prosecutor’s Office and for which he spent five months in Soto del Real prison, and little by little the life of Rafael Amargo back to normal. This Monday, July 22, he went with his partner, Lucianaat the premiere of the film Body Debriswhere he said: “We are delighted to go out on a normal date, like people do, go to the cinema, how fun, how good, how joyful.” However, although his nightmare is now behind him, the dancer admits that it is not easy to leave behind everything he has experienced.
“Going back to life is being hard. I am a person who cries a lot, it is very difficult for me because I have lived off my work all my life, I have been ambitious in the good sense and I have had a very bad time.”he told the media at the photocall, where, affected, he said: “I am accepting and understanding everything, but it is difficult for me, my head is having a hard time assimilating it because I only got out of prison three months ago and there are times when I can’t even believe it. You ask me this and now many things come to mind, because after having been totally acquitted from a trial, I think how ungrateful and unfortunate it was to have had to suffer something that did not belong to me. Because until there is a trial, they do not let you express yourself and in the meantime you are exposed to a parallel trial and what people are telling and saying. And now what happens? “, he commented angrily.
“You can’t get your time back, but above all the social stigma and honour. And all the work, the sponsors and the brands that have been castrated and have fallen from us. But now that justice has been done, we are also seeing that my phone rings a lot. Now they call me a lot more and with a lot of solidarity, understanding things,” he said relieved, although he complained: “But, damn, nobody trusted me when I said that I was right, they had to wait for a judge to say so. But we have to stay with the positive because looking back is useless,” said Rafael, who this holiday will travel to Torremolinos to spend a few days with his parents and others to Marbella, where he has a work project.
In his meeting with the media, Amargo also spoke about his friendship with Nacho Canowhom he defended to the death after being denounced: “The other day I was talking to Nacho, he called me, he is fine and now his trial is pending. I love him very much, I think what they have done to him is a great injustice and I will always support him. Because, really, with all the people out there doing things wrong, he is a guy who is feeding people and giving them work, he is raising up a country in the world of entertainment. Should we mess with these people? The thing is that these people, or in this case I, are a smokescreen for many things. But whoever has done wrong, let them pay for it if they don’t have a diplomatic passport. I will always support them.”said Rafael, who joked about his future plans saying: “What am I going to do now? Have a child.”
