The Real Madrid leaves more leader of Anoeta
Ancelotti’s men take advantage of a favorable day with goals from Vinicius and Jovic despite Benzema’s injury
MADRID, 4 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad (0-2) this Saturday on matchday 16 of LaLiga Santander held at the Reale Arena, where the locals squeezed without precision in the last meters until the claws from Vinicius and Jovic arrived in the second time, to make the white team more leader despite Benzema’s injury.
It was the big but of the night for Madrid, the ailment of their star striker, a Benzema at 15 minutes left his place for Jovic. Both the Serbian, assist and goal, and Madrid were slow to work, but the visitors held on to Real’s push and took all three points to add 39 in a solid lead.
Another perfect week for Carlo Ancelotti’s men, beating Sevilla, Athletic and now a Real that, despite the losses of David Silva and Merino, pushed hard in the first half. So did Anoeta, but later he lacked football and gasoline, which is questioned in a Madrid that at the moment does not seem to have limits.
Ancelotti does not rotate and if he does it out of obligation, it works out for him. Jovic, a practically unprecedented footballer in Madrid, teamed up with Vinicius as Benzema would have done and in 10 minutes of the second half he sentenced the game. Not all had sat in their seats when the Brazilian started on the left wing and, on a wall with the Serbian, scored his tenth goal in the league (0-1).
Jovic’s 0-2 hit a corner kick, well touched at the near post by Casemiro and better sought after by the Serbian in the second. La Real found no reaction, despite the pile of changes from Imanol Alguacil. Barrenetxea and Portu entered and Madrid retreated at times but neither the stands were so tight nor the Real knew how to catch the current that seemed to tilt the field towards Courtois.
The Belgian goalkeeper this time had no work, and that the first half was of high intensity. La Real pressed up on their pressure and Madrid suffered especially from the actions of Rico and Oyarzabal. Benzema’s injury, much more than a striker, broke more than one scheme and Ancelotti’s men had their best man in Militao, always well placed to prevent the shot.
The Real did not find Isak, nor would they find him without just shooting at the door, and Vinicius did come to the rescue. The Brazilian entered with renewed desire after the break and faced without thinking. With the 0-1 Real faltered and Madrid smelled the blood to fasten their eighth victory in a row. Jovic looked well for that combed ball to double the rent and Ancelotti could start thinking about Inter.
With the ticket to the round of 16 as the first in the group at stake on Tuesday, Madrid with authority overruled the possible reaction of the locals, with another handful of actions from Militao. Everything marches in the whites, hours after the stumble of Atlético de Madrid against Mallorca and Barça against Betis, although the Catalans do not worry right now. Sevilla is second to 8 points and one game less.
