The pullitas that Feijóo has left for Pedro Sánchez in ‘El Hormiguero’: “I have not come to throw you off the table, Pablo”

The president of the PP has sat this Wednesday in the anthill, 24 hours after his political rival. She brought it well studied and has not missed an opportunity to throw pullitas at Pedro Sánchez for his speech and behavior with Pablo Motos: “No wonder I didn’t have time to ask all the questions. I didn’t come to kick you out of the table, I came to have fun.”

The interview began strongly: “What is Sanchismo? It is evil, lies and manipulation. The person who had yesterday on this set defined it very well and I am not going to contradict him.” And he continued throwing darts where it hurts the PSOE the most: “I am not Pedro Sánchez, I am not going to agree with Bildu. We have red lines that we are not going to cross. I believe in the Constitution of my country and I have worked for it all my life , I can negotiate many points with other parties, but the rights and obligations of the Constitution are not negotiable.” And he explained his agreements with Vox: “I have traceability and I am not going to negotiate that healthcare be public and free, I am not going to negotiate that education be of quality, I am not going to negotiate sexist violence… What I do not It may be that the PSOE can agree with everyone and the PP with nobody. We are not Vox, but we have had to agree with them in some communities to guarantee stability.”

On the government of the Generalitat Valenciana (PP-Vox) he explained: “We do not agree with the president of the Parliament of the Generalitat, but she is not part of the government. We deeply disagree with some ideological thoughts, we are not Vox. The policies of Violence against women will be taken from the PP of Valencia and we have vetoed a Vox candidate who was accused of gender violence, there is no greater commitment than that. The domestic violence law encompasses all violence that occurs within the home , not only against the woman, but also against a child or a grandfather, is not exclusive of anything”.

On a possible appointment of Santiago Abascal as vice president of his government (as Sánchez did with Pablo Iglesias), Feijóo denies it: “I think that appointing ministers before winning the elections is superb. My goal is to name a Vice President and I know who she is, I also know who the Minister of Economy is, and they are very good. I am not going to say their names out of respect.”

23-J elections

Feijóo has expressed concern about the date chosen for the elections and reproaches the government for it: “I am concerned about the participation. The Spaniards did not deserve this date, they could have done them in the first half of July or in September, but no. It seems that they do not seek citizen participation”. And he responded to Sánchez: “Yesterday he said that I called elections in Galicia in July too, and that is not fair. They were called for April, but the pandemic arrived. We have a group of medical experts who recommended the date, with names and surnames each, and July in Galicia is not July in Córdoba, Mr. Sánchez”.

LGBTI rights

The PP has illuminated its facade this Wednesday, Gay Pride Day, with the rainbow flag: “It is a declaration of intent. I like the rights more than the flags and those of the LGTBI collective are sacred and are granted by law. Let’s go to improve, because a minor needs medical support, a period of reflection and the support of their parents to be able to change their sex,” he said emphatically.

Abortion

The former president of the Xunta has faced another of the most delicate issues of the electoral campaign, the Abortion Law that they want to reform again: “When a minor wants to have a child and the parents do not let her, the desire of the minor. If she wants to terminate the pregnancy and the parents won’t let her, there is a conflict that a judge resolves in 48 hours. I have no doubt that if that 16-year-old is not ready to have a child, her parents will accompany and support her, and otherwise, a judge will do it, who will listen to her and is trained for that, but it cannot be that a young person who cannot have a driver’s license can make such a decision without the support of his parents.

Euthanasia

According to the leader of the PP, this is an important issue and a meeting point would have to be reached: “We have made the palliative care law and the living will, but euthanasia for a person who is not in an irreversible state, according to the doctor , we politicians should not get involved”, he explained. “We must pass a law to facilitate the dignity of a patient, there must be a medical and bioethical process, not a political one, because it is an irreversible decision.” And he told a personal anecdote: “I was present when my father was sedated. He had been deteriorating for 15 years due to Parkinson’s and was drowning due to paralysis. The doctor told us that it was time for sedation and my sister and I gave the consent. I do not deny the dignity of an irreversible patient”.

Economy

Feijóo has taken advantage of the financial issue to launch new darts against Pedro Sánchez: “He says that it goes like a motorcycle, you are Motorcycles and I think you are doing better than the economy,” he said with a laugh. “I don’t lie to the Spanish. If they elect me, I’m not going to lie to them.” And he has explained some of the measures that he will adopt in the first 100 days of his government: “I will lower the Income Tax for workers who earn less than 40,000 euros and I will abolish the Tax on large fortunes, because to raise the country I need you to people stay, do not leave. I will let each community manage the Wealth Tax, which I lowered to 50% in Galicia and will continue to lower with my successor because it was the commitment “.

And there is more: “I have six or seven ministries left over. What Sánchez has done is a mess, with 14 ministers Spain works better than with 22”.

On the problem with Morocco, he was brief: “It’s a good question, Pablo. Do you know what’s happening with Morocco? Well, neither do I.”
