MADRID, 27 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The match between CD Tenerife and RC Deportivo, corresponding to matchday 19 of LaLiga Hypermotion 2024-2025, will finally be played on January 29 (9:00 p.m. peninsular time), after it was postponed due to maximum alert due to strong winds, given which was scheduled for December 15, according to LaLiga.
CD Tenerife requested LaLiga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to postpone the match on matchday 19 of LaLiga Hypermotion. “This request has been made by the island club in response to the declaration of maximum alert decreed by the Government of the Canary Islands due to adverse meteorological phenomena in the municipalities of the north and west of Tenerife,” the club reported on December 15.
In fact, the Cabildo of Tenerife suspended all sporting activities planned at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium due to this wind alert that affects the island and in which gusts of up to 120 km/hour are expected, a decision that was transferred to the president from Tenerife, Paulino Rivero.
Shortly after, the RFEF and LaLiga made official the postponement of the match due to the “exceptional weather situation expected in Tenerife”, “and after the implementation by the Island Council of Tenerife of the Island Emergency Plan due to the maximum alert due to strong winds issued by the AEMET”.
Now, the new date of the meeting between Tenerife and Galician is Wednesday, January 29, at 8:00 p.m. island time at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium.
