“The point is not valued very positively”

José Bordalás, coach of Valencia, assured this Saturday at a press conference that the point that his team added against Getafe after drawing 0-0 does not value it “very positively” although he acknowledged that his players were at least “very consistent”.

“It has been a very disputed game, difficult and with few chances. Getafe played a lot and it was a game of interruptions, cards and stoppages. Little football because the teams have prevented it. It was very close and the spaces have prevented it “It has been difficult for us to reach the opposite field due to the pressure from Getafe, which is a great team and has prevented us from creating football. It was the script we expected. The point is not valued very positively, but we have been very consistent,” he declared.

In addition, he valued his return to the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum, where he trained Getafe for five seasons and said that it was “endearing” for all the good times he lived in the Madrid entity.

“Much affection from the fans, from the president, from many players. I know everyone. It has been endearing and strange. Now I defend the interests of Valencia and I wish Getafe the best so that they can add up the points. I’m sure they will achieve it because they have magnificent players, coach and fans,” he said.

He also commented that Valencia’s intention was to get “the three points” against Getafe, which he said was greatly needed due to the situation in which it was close to relegation positions.

“They have won us many second moves. They have been attentive in all the actions and have created problems for us. It was what we expected. We wanted the three points but it was not easy. We have to keep the attitude of the players. We have lacked creating game and situations. But Getafe is orderly, very well structured and it’s not easy to score goals. Today it has been proven,” he said.

He also spoke about the reception of another former Getafe player, Hugo Duro, who was whistled by his fans. Bordalás did not agree with the criticism that the player received from him.

I know Hugo well and he grew up here. He is from Getafe, he has spent his entire career here, he started very young and is still a Getafe player. He has great affection for them. If he is on loan with us it is because I know him and Getafe trusted other players. But I don’t think the same. He is a boy who has given everything for Getafe. I haven’t changed him for that. Maxi played a great game last weekend and he has other characteristics”, he stated.

Regarding Borja Mayoral’s annulled goal, he pointed out that, although at first he had doubts, later he saw the images on his Ipad and verified that it was a hand “without any doubt”.

“Getafe is a very well-structured team, very orderly, supportive, strong and it’s difficult. We knew it was going to be like that. Perhaps too many fouls have been called, many interruptions. In the end, it’s complex for the referees and that has made the rhythm of the game was not high. But, as I said in the previous one, Quique is a magnificent coach who has recovered Getafe in a remarkable way, because they were in a very complicated situation. He will not have problems achieving the goal of salvation”, culminated.
