The Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank lives its penultimate stop this Saturday in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

The Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank 2023 circuit will experience its penultimate stop this Saturday in the emblematic Plaza de Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, an event for which a total of 134 players have already registered in 35 teams of all categories, who will also enjoy the presence of former player Fernando Romay, according to a statement from the Spanish Football Federation (FEB).

The Plaza de Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will host the ninth and penultimate stop of the year, after having already passed through Vigo, Córdoba, Toledo, Pamplona, ​​Logroño, Barcelona, ​​Santander and Murcia.

With 134 players registered in 35 teams of all categories, the day will start early in the morning until mid-afternoon, concluding with the presentation of medals to the last winning teams. Competition and contests directed by FEB ambassador Fernando Romay will be combined.

The men’s finals will be held on the CaixaBank Court, and the Women’s Universe Court will host the women’s finals. This last track is part of the ‘Women’s Universe’ project, led by the FEB and the Higher Sports Council and to which CaixaBank is a member, “for the promotion and dissemination of the role of women in society through the values ​​that athletes transmit”.

The event in the capital of Gran Canaria will be attended by the Sports Councilor of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Aridany Romero; the Deputy Minister of Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Angel Luis Sabroso; the councilor-delegate of Sports, Youth and Citizen Participation of the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Carla Campoamor; the territorial director of CaixaBank in the Canary Islands, Manuel Afonso; and the president of the Canarian Basketball Federation, Carlos Manuel Olano.

This initiative has the support of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Insular Sports Institute, and the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as well as the collaboration of the Canarian Basketball Federation. A team of volunteers assigned to the FEB-CaixaBank Volunteer Program will also participate.
