The Association of Golf Professionals of Spain (PGA) launched this Wednesday, during an event at the Higher Sports Council (CSD), the new image of its national circuit under a new name, with the sponsorship of the clothing and Tumi accessories.

The Madrid headquarters of the CSD received the PGA of Spain at the presentation event of the Tumi Spain Golf Tour. In a press release, it described its sponsor as a “brand specialized in manufacturing and luxury luggage”, referring to an attitude “very committed to the world of golf” as it is the official luggage of the American PGA Tour and the LPGA. United States Women’s Golf Circuit.

The event, where the San Pablo Group was also presented as sponsor of two of the circuit tournaments that will be held in Madrid and Barcelona, was attended by the president of the PGA, Ander Martínez; the general director of the CSD, Fernando Molinero; and the general director of Tumi, Ignacio Miranda Álvarez-Pickman.

Martínez presented this new stage of the circuit, open to men and women, thanking the private sponsorship and the trust placed in what is the oldest athletes’ association in Spain, as well as the public support from the CSD, in the field of training and in the creation of new paths of progress and professional opportunities.

The president of the PGA also wanted to thank the Spanish professionals for “their commitment” to said association since they “enhance” the national circuit and all the “projects” that the “union of the collective” are carrying out.

Furthermore, Molinero highlighted that golf “represents values” defended by the CSD. “We want to thank Tumi and Grupo San Pablo for their support, because without private companies it would be very difficult to tackle these projects, and we are delighted to also participate in this great circuit,” he said. Supporting grassroots sport is one of our goals, and as Seve Ballesteros said, giving the youngest the opportunities that he and his generation did not have,” he added.

Finally, Miranda Álvarez-Pickman thanked her for the “opportunity to participate” in the circuit. “We participate in the American PGA Tour and the LPGA and we are especially happy to collaborate with the PGA of Spain in this great circuit,” concluded the general director of Tumi.
