Thomas Markle (80) has given an interview tol Daily Mail in which he spoke about the decision he has made, leaving his place of residence in Mexico to start a new life in Southeast Asia (a place that, for the moment, is among his options): “I traveled to that part of the world when I was young. The people are very kind and welcoming. They respect the elderly. It is a place of culture and beauty. The medical system there is good, you can live reasonably cheap, the food is healthy”says Thomas, who does not have any type of relationship with his daughter due to all the controversies that flourished with him ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
Meghan banned him from attending her wedding as a guest after he sold some photos to the British tabloids. She felt “hurt” and “betrayed” and did not believe his explanations, as she told in the famous interview with Oprah Winfrey: “We called my father and I asked him if it was true that he had agreed to sell some photos. He said no. , which absolutely not.”
Currently, Thomas lives in a bungalow in Rosarito, Mexico, about 400 kilometers from Montecito, the exclusive area of California where Meghan and Harry settled after leaving their royal duties in 2020. There they live close to the tireless support of Doria Ragland, the Meghan’s mother, and with her children, little Archie and Lilibet Diana.
