Meghan Markle (43) has started the year by giving away a new Instagram account in which she has already begun to promote her new project, which premieres on Netflix on January 15: a cooking show with which she returns to the platform of content in which he already made the famous docuseries with Prince Harry. But in the middle of all this news about the Duchess of Sussex has come the reappearance of her father, who has once again come to the fore in the British media.
Thomas Markle (80) has given an interview tol Daily Mail in which he spoke about the decision he has made, leaving his place of residence in Mexico to start a new life in Southeast Asia (a place that, for the moment, is among his options): “I traveled to that part of the world when I was young. The people are very kind and welcoming. They respect the elderly. It is a place of culture and beauty. The medical system there is good, you can live reasonably cheap, the food is healthy”says Thomas, who does not have any type of relationship with his daughter due to all the controversies that flourished with him ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
Meghan banned him from attending her wedding as a guest after he sold some photos to the British tabloids. She felt “hurt” and “betrayed” and did not believe his explanations, as she told in the famous interview with Oprah Winfrey: “We called my father and I asked him if it was true that he had agreed to sell some photos. He said no. , which absolutely not.”
Currently, Thomas lives in a bungalow in Rosarito, Mexico, about 400 kilometers from Montecito, the exclusive area of California where Meghan and Harry settled after leaving their royal duties in 2020. There they live close to the tireless support of Doria Ragland, the Meghan’s mother, and with her children, little Archie and Lilibet Diana.
Thomas does not know them, and once again has lamented that he has lost hope of seeing them. Thomas adds: “I’m looking for a more positive life. Every day I see something about Meghan. This week it was the new TV show. I wish her no harm. My dream is that one day I can reunite my entire family as a ‘normal’ family.”. Thomas, in the role of victim, also empathizes with Charles III: “I am a grandfather and he is the King of England, but he is also a grandfather who wants to see his grandchildren.”
