“The muse of Pride has backfired”

Bárbara Rey caused a great stir on social networks when this Wednesday, during the broadcast of Blood tieson TVE, she wore a bracelet with the Spanish flag on which was written: “Government resignation.” After the comments she received, the Totana starlet published a post on Instagram, boasting about her election.

The mother of Sofía Cristo and Ángel Cristo Jr. has reposted a follower’s post showing her support: “Great and brave. Bárbara Rey, a woman of a lifetime. A woman without fear of anything or anyone. With her ‘Government resignation’ bracelet. Women who represent all good Spaniards.”

The decision of the Totana girl to wear this bracelet opened a whole debate on X, the old Twitterwith comments like these: “Bárbara Rey appears with a bracelet with the slogan ‘Government resign’ and a month ago as an LGTBI diva at Pride. We must stop idolizing people who, when push comes to shove, will vote for those who are against our rights, no matter how many nice speeches they make,” wrote the communicator and content creator Ramón López.

Kiko Matamoros, for his part, has also fueled the controversy:”Bárbara Rey shows up at RTVE with a bracelet calling for the resignation of the Government. Everyone’s television gives a lesson in plurality that is not up to the attacks of the offended. The muse of Pride has turned out to be a frog“.

On July 5, the artist performed at the Mr. Gay Spain Gala, part of the events organized in Madrid for LGTBIQ+ Pride.
