The leader Almería reacts in Las Palmas

UD Almería, leader of LaLiga SmartBank, reacted in the second half and, despite the significant casualties with which they faced the game, added a point from their difficult visit to UD Las Palmas, which had advanced before the break with a goal by Jonathan Viera.

The local team’s coach, Pepe Mel, repeated the formula that gave him success in the derby against Tenerife, with Jonathan Viera as a false center forward, accompanied by Kirian, and Jesé heeled to the left wing to break in speed.

For its part, Almería, faced with the significant losses of Umar Sadiq, Dyego Sousa and Juan Villar in that more advanced position, opted for the speed of Pozo and Appiah on the wings, and Ramazani as the most advanced player.

Precisely Ramazani had the best chance in the 35th minute when he stole the ball from Raúl Navas and left alone from the center of the field towards the goal, but he had a lot of time to think, perhaps too much, and chose a bad dribble to the goalkeeper, losing the option to dial.

Only two minutes later, Viera made a play of skill inside the area and, after combining with Kirian, he did know how to dodge goalkeeper Fernando to score 1-0, an advantage with which the yellows reached the break.

Almería, forced by the scoreboard against, tried to take control of the ball in the second half and tied in a counterattack led by Pozo, with a final pass to Appiah and a low left-foot from the Englishman from the front of the area. The locals asked Sergi Cardona for a lack of Pozo at the start of the play.

The tie ignited the game, even hardened it at times, and not only balanced it on the scoreboard, but also in the game, because the Andalusian team was not satisfied, it reached much more to the rival area and sought victory. Raúl Fernández parried a good shot from Akieme in the 72nd minute.

Without Jesé, prematurely replaced by Mel, Las Palmas was entrusted to the connection of Viera with the power of the Venezuelan Peñaranda, and later with the speed of the Portuguese Hernâni in his yellow debut.

Both teams were ambitious, without the necessary success, as on their last occasions in extra time, for Hernâni on the premises, which was stopped by Fernando, and Curro Sánchez on the visitors, who was ruined by Fabio.
