The Utrecht-Vitesse match, corresponding to matchday 23 of the Eredivisie, was stopped twice due to the launching of flares onto the pitch of the Galgenward Stadion, but it was finally completed with a distribution of points (1-1).
The first incidents occurred in the 27th minute when the scoreboard reflected a 1-0 in favor of Utrecht after Moussa Sylla’s goal after a quarter of an hour.
It was then that from the area reserved for the visiting supporters they began to throw flares onto the field of play, for which the referee stopped the game for the first time.
