The Kings’ trip opens October with the busiest agenda of the year

October is just around the corner. The month with the busiest institutional agenda of the year comes with a trip to Jordan. The King and Queen will visit the Hashemite country for the first time since the proclamation of Felipe VI ten years ago. Let us remember that this destination was part of the journey of the then Prince and Princess of Asturias on their honeymoon in 2004. The Royal House is already immersed in the preparations for this State visit, according to Abc.

It will be a three-day trip that will begin in the first week of October, just before the National Day, on the 12th, and the big event in Oviedo with the Princess of Asturias Awards. During the stay of Felipe VI and Letizia in Jordan, two gala dinners are planned, one that Abdullah II and Rania will offer to their guests and the other that the King and Queen of Spain will offer to their hosts. It is also expected that the monarch will give a speech and that he will meet, together with Letizia, with the Spanish community living in Jordan.

This trip, coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, poses a logistical and security challenge due to its proximity to Israel and Palestine and the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from the Israeli military offensive launched after the attacks in October last year perpetrated by Hamas. A war that has claimed the lives of some 40,000 people. The ministry’s recommendation is not to approach the border.

Letizia and Rania have a wonderful relationship. Although the press insists on a rivalry in style, there is no such competition between the two. They get along wonderfully. They are women of the same generation, mothers and professionals dedicated to their fields of work on women, education, health and children. The last time they met on a state visit was last year, in June, when Abdalá and Rania visited Madrid.
