The Kings of Bhutan present their new daughter: this is the meaning of her peculiar name

The Kings of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck (43) y Jetsun Pema (33), they open their photo album. Three months after excitedly announcing the arrival of her third child, the monarchs shared the first photographs of the little girl this Saturday and explained the peculiar meaning of the newborn's name, Sonam Yangden Wangchuck. We must remember that they already have two children: Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck7 years old, and Jigme Ugyen Wangchuckout of 3.

Through their social networks, they have explained that “Sonam is a Bhutanese name that denotes merit, longevity and good fortune. The name Yangden, which means precious jewel, means prosperity and well-being.”

Likewise, along with the meaning of the name, the Kings have shared the girl's face in a close-up, as well as several images of the naming ceremony, which was held at the Buddhist monastery, Tashichho Dzong. The ceremony was presided over Je Khenpothe highest religious authority in the country.

As the publication illustrates, the royal family was present on the little princess's big day. In the snapshots, in addition to her parents, Sonam Yangden's grandparents and siblings are seen smiling very much.

King Jigme Khesar passed the altar with Jetsun Pema in October 2011, at Punakha Dzong. The husband became King in December 2006 following the abdication of his father, Jigme Singye. However, he was not officially crowned until 2008, two years later.
