The Jaguars have C.J. Beathard in place of Trevor Lawrence, who hurt his shoulder.

Bears quarterback Trevor Lawrence left Sunday’s game against the Jaguars in the fourth quarter because he hurt his shoulder.

Lawrence’s comeback is not certain. However, the Jaguars are now down 30–6, and it looks like C.J. Beathard will be the quarterback for the rest in the game.

After coming into the game, Beathard made two straight passes towards tight end Evan Engram.

However, Engram lost his helmet on the second pass, making the Jaguars’ day in Tampa even worse.

The Jaguars lost the ball for the fourth time that day, and Lawrence was to blame for three of them.

In the first half, he threw two picks, and in the third quarter, safety Yaya Diaby sacked him and took the ball away.

The Jaguars scored with a touchdown pass to Calvin Ridley, but that’s not much of a comfort since they’re going to lose their fourth straight game.

First, an injury to the ankle. After that, a headache. Now a hurt shoulder. Trevor Lawrence’s health problems keep getting worse, which costs the Jacksonville Jaguars a lot of money.

Lawrence got through the NFL’s concussion procedure just in time to play against the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay on Sunday. However, he hurt his shoulder in the fourth quarter and had to leave the game, which the Jaguars lost 30–12.

Before he got hurt, Lawrence tossed two picks and lost a fumble, which helped Jacksonville fall behind 30-0 and lose its fourth straight game.

The quarterback, in his third year, has never missed a game. He said he hurt himself while falling for a first down on the fourth play of Jacksonville’s initial scoring drive late in the third quarter.

“I went for the first down, but I was hit out of bounds, and I just landed on it,” Lawrence said. “I knew something was wrong when I made land.” It hurts to throw the next play.

I only had one more thing to do: drive-out. The way I threw the ball during the 2-point try showed that I wasn’t able to raise completely my shoulder, which made it hard for me to keep playing.

After the first quarterback got hurt, backup C.J. Beathard took over and completed 11 of 15 passes to 94 yards and a score.

Lawrence had thrown 18 out of 30 passes for 213 yards and one score, but he also had two picks and lost a ball before he left the game.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Lawrence had eight games with three or more mistakes.

Since he joined the NFL in 2021, no other player has had more than three. Josh Allen of Buffalo and Mac Jones of New England both have a total of five games with three or more mistakes.

Lawrence tried to keep the right side of his body and shoulder still as he went off the field after the loss. He also did the same thing in his news conference after the game, though he did move his arm a few times.

The Jaguars were down 30-0 when Lawrence got hurt, but head coach Doug Pederson said he didn’t think about benching Lawrence at that point in the third quarter.

Lawrence had been in the NFL’s concussion procedure all week before being cleared on Saturday morning.

There were 2:26 left in the period when Lawrence got hurt. Pederson also said that he never thought about not starting Lawrence for the Buccaneers, even though he didn’t work on Wednesday or Thursday and only did some of Friday’s practice.

“Once Trevor was cleared his condition was good, he spent an entire week in the meetings and all it, and I did not hesitate after he was cleared,” said Pederson.

“He’s our starter, and we roll.” In the game against Cincinnati on December 4, he hurt his ankle badly, but he started the next week in Cleveland.

With this injury, Lawrence has now been hurt four times this season. In Week 6, he hurt his left knee behind schedule in the Jaguars’ win over Indianapolis.

But four days later, on a Thursday night, he led the Jaguars to a win over the New Orleans Saints.

Lawrence has started 49 straight games since the Jaguars picked him first overall in the 2021 draft.

He is tied with Patrick Mahomes with regard to the second-longest current quarterback streak. Allen has started 86 games in a row for Buffalo.
