MADRID, 15 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Athletic Club will close this Saturday the club's 125th anniversary after the EA Sports League match that will face Atlético de Madrid, with a day full of events, including the inauguration of a statue of José Ángel Iribar on the esplanade of San Mamés or the match that legends of the red and white club will play against those of Porto.

This Saturday, Athletic will experience the closing events of the 125th anniversary in a day that will begin at 12:30 in the morning with the inauguration of the statue of José Ángel Iribar, the player who has played the most games with the Athletic shirt, on the esplanade of San Mamés. An event that fans who wish can attend for free.

Subsequently, the game on matchday 17 of LaLiga EA Sports will be held between Athletic Club and Atlético de Madrid, two clubs especially linked by the participation of the Basque team in the foundation of the colchoneros. During the match, the 'lions' will wear the special 125th anniversary kit, and before starting the match Jon Rahm, winner of the 2023 Augusta Master, will take the honor kick-off.

Once the meeting is over, the closing events of the afternoon will begin, which will begin with the parade of former soccer players, agreed clubs and Lezama teams. Subsequently, a match between Athletic Club legends and Porto will begin (7:00 p.m.), in which former players such as Julen Guerrero, Manu Sarabia and Aritz Aduriz will participate. The latter will be able to say goodbye to the San Mamés stands, since in his last game as a rojiblanco he could not host an audience due to the pandemic.

After the legends match, the 'Made In Euskal Herria' music festival will begin. Artists from all the territories of the Basque Country will take part in it, such as Niko Etxart, considered one of the myths of modern Basque music, the duo Dupla as representation from Álava, the Navarrese Olaia Inziarte, the Guipuzcoan Josune Arakistan 'Süne' in his individual project after the closing of the stage of Huntza and Gatibu, Gernika's emblematic group.
