Silvio Berlusconi, after aggravated leukemia and a few last months marked by his hospital admissions, died this Monday, June 12 at the age of 86. This Wednesday, at the Duomo in Milan, his state funeral was held.
State funerals in Italy follow a strict protocol. The coffin was transported by six officers of the Carabineros in dress uniform. He also received military honors, both at the entrance and exit of the temple.
The government of Giorgia Meloni, of conservative nationalist ideology, made the decision to pay this high tribute to Berlusconi, as well as decree national mourning. The decision has been criticized by the opposition, since they consider it an “inopportune” act due to the trajectory of the disappeared politician.

Before Fascina, Berlusconi had a relationship with Francesca Pascale, 37 years old (bottom image). They were together for more than ten years and their break did not come to light until March 2020, when the former prime minister appeared in an Italian headline with Fascina at a luxury resort in Switzerland. In July of last year, Pascale married the singer Paola Turci.
