The ‘Hispanos’ beat Denmark and reach their fourth European final in a row

MADRID, 28 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men’s handball team beat Denmark (29-25) this Friday to reach the 2022 European final, a historic fourth fight for gold followed in a continental event for some ‘Hispanics’ from less to more against their feared rival.

Jordi Ribera’s men held on in defense and let go of their nerves after the break to put out a brilliant game at the Budapest Arena. Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas outshone Niklas Landin in the duel of carat goalkeepers and Aleix Gómez (11 goals) multiplied in the Spanish step forward in the second half.

After losing to the Danes last year in the semifinals of the World Cup and the Olympic Games, the “Hispanics” saw certain ghosts in Landin and Mikkel Hansen at the start. At the break it was already raining less (13-14) and Ribera’s team came up to opt for their third consecutive gold in a European Championship, against Sweden or France.
