New Orleans Pelicans begin to raise their heads and return to the ‘Play-In’ positions in the Western Conference of the NBA after overwhelming this morning, in a game with the great presence of Spanish Willy Hernangómez, San Antonio Spurs (91-124 ), on a day in which Juancho Hernangómez started in the victory of the Utah Jazz against the Los Angeles Clippers (121-92).
Those from Louisiana (29-41) rose to tenth place in the West by achieving their second win in the last seven games in a clash in which they subdued their rival from the first quarter (10-35). Shooting guard CJ McCollum (20) led the Pelicans in scoring at the AT&T Center.
Meanwhile, Madrid center Willy Hernangómez continues to gain weight in the team, with a total of 27 minutes of participation, starting as a substitute, in which he contributed with 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.
At the Vivint Smart Home Arena, the Jazz (44-26) settled into fourth place in the West after posting their second straight win over the Clippers (121-92) -and taking advantage of Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks’ loss in Philadelphia-, with Jared Butler (21) as the top scorer and up to five players with double figures.
With 27 minutes on the court and starting as the starter, Juancho Hernangómez supported the Salt Lake City team by scoring 6 points, collecting 7 rebounds, contributing 2 assists, recovering 2 balls and putting 3 blocks.
