The hearing confirms that Piqué ‘scammed’ Mediaset by sneaking their Kings League into them

Gerard Piqué He closed a move when, through his company Kosmos, he sold the broadcast rights for the Kings League and the Queens League to Mediaset to Mediaset. This weekend the second day of the men’s competition, created by the former culé player, has been broadcast on Cuatro River Llanos and others of the streamers most famous in Spain. The audience results have not been those expected by Shakira’s ex.

This Sunday, May 14, the 7-a-side soccer match between El Barrio and Ultimate Móstoles, which started at 8:00 p.m., only reached 2.5% of share. A figure that is below the average for the chain, which this Sunday signed 5.3%.

The agreement to offer the Kings League, which industry sources estimate at around 900,000 euros for 12 days, started last Sunday, May 7, with 3.8% of share and includes the live broadcast on Cuatro of the most attractive match of each day of both leagues, the masculine and the feminine. Likewise, Mediaset offers the summaries and the best moments of the pre-match and post-match programs: Chup Chup and After.

The broadcast of this competition, however, is not exclusive, because viewers can continue watching these matches through Twitch, the streaming platform where the Kings League was born and has triumphed among a young audience that has been seduced by a interactive window that has nothing to do with traditional television. Mediaset’s first challenge will therefore be to convince that target that it is better to sit in front of the television to watch a game of your favorite competition instead of doing it on Twitch.

It should not be forgotten that Mediaset, which is revolutionizing its grills after its low audiences and the arrival of the new leadership, already signed an agreement with Piqué a couple of years ago for the broadcast of several Messi PSG matches in the French league.
