The Grizllies of a starter Aldama cannot with the Pacers on the rise

MADRID, 29 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Memphis Grizzlies were unable to continue their recent good momentum and fell (116-110) against the Indiana Pacers who maintained their positive momentum, against a Tennessee team depleted by losses, although with the Spanish San Aldama consolidated in the starting lineup.

The Canary Islands player enjoyed his fourth consecutive appearance in Memphis' starting five, scoring 10 points (4/11 in field goals and 2/5 in three-pointers), 6 rebounds and 1 assist in 28 minutes on the court. Some good numbers that, however, did not prevent the first defeat in the last four games for Taylor Jenkins' team.

Without Ja Morant – out for the remainder of the season – Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner, the Grizzlies knew how to overcome the losses and fight for victory until the final stretch of the game against Indiana. Jaren Jackson Jr. again led the way with 25 points, accompanied by youngsters Vince Williams Jr. (20) and GG Jackson (18).

The 41-29 score in the third quarter killed the equality that kept Memphis with options, although unable to neutralize Bennedict Mathurin who was essential for the Pacers from the bench, with 24 points. Up to six players scored double figures at home, with outstanding performances from Jalen Smith (19) and Pascal Siakam (19).

The victory, third in a row for Indiana, puts the locals in the Playoff positions in the East, with a balance of 27-20, while the Grizzlies see their good three-game winning streak cut short, to remain second to last in the West ( 18-28).
