The Grammys “humiliate” Rosalía and the networks burn: “But what are they about?”

The Recording Academy has announced on Tuesday the nominees for the Grammy 2022 and has broken the schemes of the most staunch fans of Rosalía, which has been left out of the fight for the most important title: the Best Album of the year. The criticism is networks have not been long in coming: “This is humiliating.”

The Catalan artist has been nominated in two lower categories: Best Musical Film with her revolutionary vertical production of Motomami for TikTok, where it will compete with Neil Young, Justin Bieber, Adele y Billie Eilish; and Best Rock or Latin Alternative Music Album, Contra la Chilena My Lafertethe Argentinian Fito Páez and the Uruguayan Jorge Drexler. A real setback for the Catalan, who left the EMAs empty-handed last weekend.

Who has swept the nominations has been the indisputable Beyoncéwith nine, followed by Kendrick Lamarin eight categories, in addition to Adele y Brandi Carlileon seven gramophones each. Reinassence (Beyonce) y 30 (Adele) are competing for Best Album along with A summer without you (Bunny) y Harry’s House (Harry Styles), among others. The bets are leaning towards the two divas, who already wrestled in 2017 and are now returning to the music market through the front door.

the reggaetoneros Raw Alexander, Daddy Yankee, Farruko, Maluma y Bad Bunny compete for the gramophone for Best Urban Music Album, while the stars Camilo, Ruben Blades, Christina Aguilera, Fonseca y Sebastian Yatra compete for Best Latin Pop Album. Taylor Swift has received a single nomination in the country genre with I Bet You Think About Me.

The 65th edition of the Grammys will take place on February 5 in Los Angeles, after its last installment was held in Las Vegas due to the pandemic.
