The Government of Aragon has drawn up, on May 30, a new proposal for the distribution of tests to prepare the joint candidacy of Aragon and Catalonia to organize the 2030 Winter Olympics. The tests are divided into five lots, each with two options.

The first batch includes a first option, with the organization of cross-country skiing and biathlon events, the first with 596 participating athletes distributed in 12 events and the second with 424 athletes and 11 competitions, adding 1,020 participants and 23 events, while that the second option would accommodate acrobatic skiing, with 544 athletes and 13 events, and snowboarding, with 466 and 11, respectively, for a total of 1,010 athletes and 24 events.

The second lot contains a first option, with ice hockey, with 822 athletes and 2 events, and long track speed skating, with 330 and 14, respectively, with a total of 1,152 participants in 16 events. The second batch includes the short track speed skating competitions, with 224 and 9; figure skating, with 296 and 5; and curling, with 171 and 3, which yields a sum of 691 athletes and 17 tests.

The third batch also has two options, the first with female alpine skiing, with 306 athletes and five events, and the second with male and mixed alpine skiing, with 314 and 6.

The fourth lot is dedicated to the modalities not included in the current program, with a first option for mountain skiing, with 96 athletes and five tests; and the second option would focus on new sports modalities, such as telemark or ice climbing, with 96 and 5 as well.

The President of the Aragonese Government, Javier Lambán, has appeared this Thursday in the plenary session of the Cortes de Aragón, at the request of Cs, where he has announced that he will present this new proposal. In addition, he has advanced that he will report directly to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the negotiations with the Generalitat of Catalonia and the COE, and will appear in the Senate to make his position known.
