The Spanish delegation has won seven more medals this Monday at the 2022 Mediterranean Games, which are being held in the Algerian town of Oran, including two gold medals by weightlifter Marcos Ruiz, who has won two medals this day, and taekwondo athlete Adrián Vincent.
The 26-year-old Catalan weightlifter won the gold metal in the snatch in the -102kg category by lifting a total of 175 kilos to later add a silver in two times.
Meanwhile, Vicente led the shower of medals in taekwondo by winning the gold in the -58kg category after beating Moroccan Omar Lakehal (12-26) in the final. In addition, Daniel Quesada, in -80kg, took the silver after falling in the fight for the title with the Egyptian Seif, the same metal that Cecilia Castro achieved in -67kg against the Croatian Matea.
The medals won in the pool by the women’s 4×100 relay, made up of Africa Zamorano, Lidón Muñoz, Marina García and Carla Hurtado, were also silver; and the men’s volleyball team, which succumbed in the final against Croatia (25-22, 30-28 and 25-20).
