The French Government rectifies and Djokovic could not participate in Roland Garros

MADRID, 17 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The French Government will only allow entry to sporting events to professionals, athletes and the public with the complete vaccination schedule, as confirmed by the Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu, so the tennis player Novak Djokovic, who decided not to receive the immunizer, will not could participate in Roland Garros.

“The vaccination pass has been adopted. As soon as the law is enacted, it will be mandatory to enter public spaces with the full schedule (stadiums, theaters, etc.) for all French or foreign spectators, athletes and professionals,” rectified the minister on his Twitter account.

Maracineanu thanked the “work and conviction” of the entire sports movement in the country to get this new law passed. “We will work together to preserve the competitions and be the ambassadors of these measures at the international level,” he added.

It was the minister herself who a few days ago, due to the controversy with the ‘Djokovic case’, pointed out that the Serbian could participate in Roland Garros, scheduled between the end of May and the beginning of June, arguing that there would be exceptions with athletes in competitions international.

However, with this rectification, Djokovic, who for the moment has not received the complete guideline, could not play the tournament in Paris either, a new setback for the Serbian tennis player, who this Sunday saw how his visa was definitively denied to be able to stay in Australia, for which he was deported and now faces a sanction for which he would not be able to enter the country for the next three years.
