‘The Fabelmans’, by Steven Spielberg, and ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’, the Golden Globe-winning films

The Fabelmans y Banshees by Inisherin are the winning films of the 80th edition of the Golden Globes, held tonight in Los Angeles. The first, an autobiographical film by Steven Spielberg, won the award for best drama and best director. The second, directed by Martin McDonagh, came out with the best comedy statuette, comedy actor for Colin Farrell and best script for McDonagh himself.

As expected and we already analyzedCate Blanchett (Warehouse) has prevailed over Ana de Armas, nominated for best actress for her role as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde (Netflix). For his part, the Golden Globes recognized Austin Butler as the best actor for his leading role in Elvis.

In the comedy category, Michelle Yeoh (Everything at once everywhere) y Colin Farrell (Banshees by Inisherin) were the actors awarded as leading performers. The best secondary of the year -the Golden Globes do not distinguish between drama and comedy- were Ke Huy Quan (Everything at once everywhere) y Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever).

Argentina, 1985, starring Ricardo Darín and available on Prime Video, won the award for best foreign language film. It prevailed over two other powerful candidates: No news at the front (netflix) and india RRR.
