Iago Falque, former player of FC Barcelona, Roma and Torino, arrived at dawn this Sunday in the Colombian city of Cali to reinforce the America, directed by Juan Carlos Osorio. “Iago Falque, trained at La Masía, was a spur, he was a wolf, he was a bull and now he wants to be a Red Devil,” wrote América on his Twitter account, where he posted a video of the 32-year-old player arriving in Cali.
The club added: “The European midfielder with an international tour arrived in our city to carry out medical examinations and later join our institution.”
The Galician winger will thus have his first adventure outside of Europe and will return to the pitch after more than four months without playing after leaving Torino at the beginning of the season.
He also arrives as one of the most notorious signings in the Colombian league along with those of Miguel Borja, who even scored his first goal with Junior on Saturday, and Gio Moreno, who returned to Atlético Nacional after more than a decade.
Falqué will play for the Red Devils after passing through La Masía, Tottenham, Almería, Rayo Vallecano, Roma, Benevento and Torino, among others.
