The Englishman Taylor will arbitrate Barça-Bayern and the Frenchman Turpin, Atlético-Leverkusen

The Englishman Anthony Taylor will be in charge of refereeing this Wednesday the match of the fifth day of the Champions League group stage between FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich at the Spotify Camp Nou (9:00 p.m.), while the Frenchman Clément Turpin will do the same in the duel on the same day between Atlético de Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen at the Cívitas Metropolitano (9:00 p.m.).

Taylor, 44, has already led the Catalans twice, and both ended in draws. In their first meeting, the culé team equalized in the group stage of the 2017-18 ‘Champions’ with Olympiakos (1-1), and in the last precedent they also tied at the Parc des Princes with Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16 of the 2020-21 academic year (1-1).

For his part, Turpin, 40, already led the rojiblancos in the clash of the last day of the group stage last year against Porto, which ended with a mattress victory (1-3).

He also dispensed justice in the draws in the 2020-21 group stage against Bayern Munich (1-1) and in the first leg of the 2017-18 Europa League semifinals against Arsenal (1-1), in the defeat of group stage of the 2016-17 Champions League against Bayern (1-0) and in the 2011 Europa League victory against Vitória de Guimaraes (2-0).
