The Campos continue to be the main protagonists of From FridayIf a few weeks ago the morbid thing was to see Terelu Campos meet her son-in-law, Carlo Constanzia, who sat down on the Telecinco format to talk about his paternity with Alejandra Rubio, this Friday it was Carmen Borrego and her husband, Jose Carlos Bernalwho sat in front of Terelu Campos.
It is true that the ‘Campos’ clan has been in the media spotlight throughout the year. The controversial breakup of Carmen Borrego’s son, José María Almoguera, with Paola Olmedo, while his mother was in the Cayos Cochinos, was joined by the surprising pregnancy of Alejandra Rubio with Mar Flores’ son. However, this time it was Terelu’s brother-in-law who was the center of attention at the ceremony.
José Carlos Bernal sat down for the first time on a television set to mark the tenth anniversary of his marriage to Borrego and to emerge from his anonymity. Very discreet about his privacy, Bernal was agile in front of the cameras to talk, among other things, about how he met María Teresa Campos’ daughter: through her daughter, when she had Borrego herself as her boss.
At first, they were friends until they fell in love at first sight, which would end in a decade of marriage, at least for the moment: “Ten happy years, I remember my wedding day with great joy because it was a very beautiful day, we were accompanied by friends, family. We met and I thought she was a beautiful woman, very interesting, we were friends, We spent a few months and we saw that there was something more than a friendship, she was the one who launched herself, one day eating in a restaurant she gave me the first kiss, and I said ‘finally’,” said José Carlos.
So, Carmen recounted how the shy moment went: “We were having dinner in El Escorial, in a place where we are going to celebrate our anniversary. I went to the bathroom and when I came out I had to attack. I said ‘this man won’t kiss me’.
They said ‘I do’ back in the summer of 2014 at the exclusive Club de Campo Villa in Madrid. And, like all marriages, not everything has been rosy. “Carmen is a brave and respectful woman and above all an excellent mother, The most difficult moments we have experienced have been the illness and death of Maria Teresa”confessed Carmen Borrego’s husband.
Saying goodbye to his mother-in-law was not easy for José Carlos, as they had a very close relationship: “It was a very nice relationship. From the beginning we got along very well, we had a very similar sense of humor, we laughed at everything and had a great time. She spoke well of me because she loved me very much. For her, I was one more member of the family, not just as the husband of her daughter Carmen. I am emotional because the life I have lived with Teresa was one of great respect and affection and that is not easy in this life.”.
Regarding Maria Teresa’s departure from television, he noted: “Teresa’s last years on TV were very unfair. She should have left television through the front door and she left through the back door”. A few words with which he expressed his opinion, regarding the decision of the Fuencarral channel to remove the presenter from the schedule, given her illness.
