Canadian tennis player Félix Auger-Aliassime, current number 9 in the ATP ranking, received this Thursday the invitation to the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell tournament, which will be played from April 16 to 21 at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona.
The Count of Godó will have a fourth Top-10. This was announced by the Catalan tournament this Thursday after Auger-Aliassime confirmed his participation through a ‘wild card’.
The 21-year-old Canadian, considered one of the tennis references of the new generation, will be one of the tournament favorites along with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Casper Ruud and Cameron Norrie, among other players.
Auger-Aliassime has won his first title this year at the ATP 500 in Rotterdam after nine finals played. Earlier in the year he actively contributed to Canada’s victory at the ATP Cup in Australia. In Barcelona he has participated in two editions, accumulating three wins and two losses.
