The ‘Bribon’, with King Don Juan Carlos as patron, leads the Barceló Challenge

MADRID, 25 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The ‘Bribon’, with King Don Juan Carlos as patron, leads the Barceló Challenge after this Saturday, the event that closes the Spanish League of the 6M 2023 class this weekend in Sanxenxo.

The day of regattas was delayed in Sanxenxo due to the weather instability that prevailed in the Pontevedra estuary. The light northeasterly wind that continued until midday delayed the entire sporting plan until the expected wind, a northwesterly wind of seven knots, filled the regatta field.

A continuous hand in hand between the “Bribon”, with King Don Juan Carlos as skipper, and the “Aida”, with Javier Gándara as skipper, was the tone of the day, while the “Titia” by Mauricio Sánchez-Bella and Miguel Lago’s “Alibaba II” maintained their particular duel in search of the runner-up position in the Spanish 6 Meter League.

“Bribon”, with today’s first place, mathematically secures the title of national champion of the 6 Meter League. Meanwhile, the fifth position went to the “Erica”, which had Infanta Doña Elena as patron, followed by the “Stardust” of Santiago Campos.
