MADRID, 28 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Bitci Baskonia conceded a new defeat (75-63) this Friday in their visit to Panathinaikos, on matchday 23 of the Euroleague, already defeated by their way of jumping to OAKA to further move away their chances of being in the ‘playoffs’.
The Basque team entered the Greek pavilion with a very poor 22-8, which barely improved in the second quarter. The first part of Baskonia was sad, without excuse despite the casualties, and that was the end of their match against a Panathinaikos also wounded and in need. The Spanish team remains three wins from eighth, an Efes that lost this week and is off the hook from seventh.
The latest COVID casualties, more than Costello’s in the previous hours, forced Fontecchio, Giedraitis and Enoch to play almost the entire game. The local team also had losses and an even worse dynamic and came to around 30 points of rent in the last quarter. Neven Spahija’s men added four assists in the first half, unemployed and without character.
White, Evans and Nedovic took control of the game, with a painful 0 of 13 triples for the Basques. The restart confirmed the Baskonia debacle, with the lead increasing for the Greeks (57-32). The short rotation of the visitors gave Álex Barrera an option in a relaxed finish for the Greeks and make-up for a team that does not lift its head in a sea of problems.
