The Barça gives a downturn in Milan

Bad game for Jasikevicius and lead for Italians

MADRID, 4 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça fell (75-70) this Thursday against Armani Milan on matchday eight of the Euroleague, the second defeat in a row for the Spanish team in Europe and the Italians alone, in command at the Mediolanum Forum except for a late Barça arreón .

After losing their undefeated last week to Maccabi, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team again showed signs of physical wear and tear even with just a few minutes left for the new faces, on another bad day that confirmed the game slump. The local defense commanded and Ettore Messina’s men found rhythm, with flashes of Sergio Rodríguez, and a choral match between Hall, Shields, Datome and Mitoglou.

With the season already itching upward due to the accumulation of matches, it was equally steep for Barça to warm up at the Mediolanum Forum. Milan was better in the first half, they were able to allow a more discreet second quarter start, and went with a good income at halftime (42-34) against a mediocre Barça.

For those of Saras the meeting started badly from the defense and continued to complicate with a hard lack of success. Milan, with Melli and Tarczewski, commanded on the rebound and on the triple, 1/8 for the Catalans after 20 minutes, Hall and Shields right. Barça had to go in tow although Kuric scored points by jumping from the bench.

Saras’s men clenched their teeth but did not accompany with baskets, shots that did not touch the rim, and Milan struck again on the way to the locker room. The ten against Mirotic made up on the horn, a little light to get a more accurate version and that would also wake up aggressiveness on a big night.

The Spanish-Montenegrin returned hot but Barça fell due to losses in attack and a grown rival (54-41). Nor did Davies contribute as usual until the Barca moment arrived in the last quarter, a 0-14 run that put the Catalans ahead (61-63). The comeback died on the shore.

The ‘Chacho’ Rodríguez and Datome dried up the culé game oasis and left the triumph in Milan, where they dream that this is the year to fight again for Europe. The Barça, that remains in six victories by the 7-1 of the Italians, looks for regularity during week and in 40 minutes.
