The ‘Animation stand’, a consolidated engine of the Camp Nou

The Camp Nou It has historically been characterized by an animation that was only placed at the height of the greats of Europe in terms of intensity and sound in important duels such as Classics or advanced rounds of the Champions League. All this was left behind since the arrival of the ‘Animation Tier’, that little by little has been consolidated until it is a reality that leads and moves the Camp Nou public to accompany the team at all times, something that Xavi Hernandez or Nico Gonzalez, among others, recently recognized. “I left a different Camp Nou and now the atmosphere is extraordinary. I had never experienced it at Can Barça. There are moments of goosebumps”, said Xavi after the match against Napoli, while Nico pointed out that “he had never seen the Camp Nou press so hard in the second half, it was spectacular. I have come to have the creeps, ”he confessed.

THE ORIGINS

In 2010 Sandro Rosell won the elections with various proposals on his programme, including the creation of the ‘Grada d’Animació’. A project that after several years of work, with special attention to guaranteeing safety, saw the definitive light in the 2016-17 season.

THAT’S HOW IT WORKS

Different groups are placed in the same space in the Camp Nou stands. Specifically in the Gol Nord, in the first tier, with special access and in a closed area surrounded by transparent partitions. To enter, members must do so using their fingerprint.

MEMBERS

To be part of the Grada, in addition to paying an annual fee that gives access to all the games of the season, you have to belong to one of the groups that make it up. Penya Almogàvers, Nostra Ensenya, Creu de Sant Jordi, Front 532 and Supporters Barça are the aforementioned groups. Within the enclosure each of the groups is located in a specific part.

THE FLAGS

Although all the groups have Barça fans and the Barça flag as a common denominator, some wear pro-independence emblems, others Catalan and others solely Barça.

THE CANTICLES

The most popular is the already famous ‘Un dia de partit’, known throughout the world and sung in unison throughout the Stadium creating a magical and deafening atmosphere. They also have other songs dedicated to the team and to some players in particular.
