The 2022 Ferrari will be called the F1-75

MADRID, 1 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The car with which Ferrari will compete during the 2022 season in the Formula 1 World Championship will be called F1-75, to commemorate the anniversary that the company celebrates this year, the ‘Scuderia’ announced on Tuesday.

The 68th car that Ferrari will build to compete in the ‘Grand Circus’ combines the name of the category with the number 75. On March 12, 1947, Enzo Ferrari started the 125 S engine for the first time in Maranello (Italy).

“Formula 1, with its spirit of competition and innovation, has always been a fundamental part of Ferrari, driving the technological development of our road cars. This year, as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our first production car coming off the factory, we honor that spirit by naming our Ferrari F1-75 like this,” said Ferrari Chairman John Elkann.

The F1-75, which will be piloted by the Spaniard Carlos Sainz and the Monegasque Charles Leclerc, will be presented electronically on February 17. The season kicks off on March 20 at Bahrain’s Sakhir Circuit; Previously, there will be test days from February 23 to 25 in Barcelona and from March 10 to 12 in Sakhir.
