Tenerife takes the lead and Zaragoza fails again

MADRID, 8 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Tenerife took the lead this Sunday in LaLiga Hypermotion with a 2-1 win over Burgos on matchday ten, which Espanyol still has to close in search of the lead, while Real Zaragoza failed again (0-2) against the Alcorcón.

The Canary Islands team was able to get the three points despite playing with one less for the entire second half due to Dauda’s second yellow card. Curro, the category’s top scorer, did not take advantage of the penalty taken at half-time and Rober López and Enric Gallego scored Tenerife’s goals in the second half.

Curro retaliated by closing the gap but Jon Pérez Bolo’s men could not withstand the great second half of Asier Garitano’s men, which allowed them to sleep as leaders in a tight fight for direct promotion positions. The Tenerife team has 21 points compared to Espanyol’s 20, which plays this Sunday against Villarreal B.

Meanwhile, the four teams in the promotion zone are in 19. Zaragoza remains in that ‘Top 6’ despite returning to the old ways of mistakes at the back and a defeat with Madrid goals from Juanma Bravo and Yan Eteki. Vital triumph for Alcorcón in search of leaving the relegation zone.

Furthermore, Valladolid is still strong, with five wins in a row, after a crazy match (3-2) against Mirandés. Likewise, Eibar is already on the verge of that high zone with 18 points after signing its fifth consecutive victory at the expense of Amorebieta (1-2). The Basque derby was decided by Aketxe in the 92nd minute.
