The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, the only Spanish woman on the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Marisol Casado, the head of FIFA agents, Luis Villas-Boas, and the lawyers Marcos Motta and Juan de Dios Crespo will participate, among others. , in the fourth edition of the ISDE Sports Convention (ISC), the international congress organized by the Higher Institute of Law and Economics (ISDE) in collaboration with LaLiga, which will be held this Friday at the Palacio de Santoña in Madrid.

Aimed at senior representatives and managers of sports law companies, Marketing and Communication directors and, among others, students specialized in sports law, the ISC 2023 is the only international congress promoted by an academic institution, the ISDE.

In this new installment of ISC 2023, which will host the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, key issues for the present and future of law and the sports industry will be analyzed, such as the ‘Leading cases’ of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS); the sustainable challenges faced by organizers of sporting events; the digitization process and the challenges that this entails in sports by representatives of ISDI; and the present and future of the professional leagues.

Likewise, the presence of women in the direction and management of sports organizations will be discussed, and the legal implications derived from the approval at the end of last year of the new Sports Law, the Regulations for Agents and the new Code of Ethics of FIFA.

Speakers such as Antonio de Quesada (TAS); José Juan Pinto (Painted); Kepa Larumbe (BDO); Luis Fernando Pamplona (NKPDN); Dev Kumar (Parmar Sports); Rodrigo Miranda (ISDI); Jaume Pons (LaLiga); and Javier Lozano and Beatriz Álvarez, presidents of the LNFS and Liga F, respectively.

The head of the Sports Area of ​​the Madrid City Council, Sofía Miranda, and the Deputy Director General of Sports Promotion and Innovation of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), Aitor Canibe, will present their vision on the sustainable challenges in the organization of sporting events for the capital of Spain, which in 2022 was the World Sports Capital, and the Government of the country.

Likewise, magistrate Alberto Palomar, lawyer Irene Aguiar (Nebot/Páez abogados) and the PP Sports spokesperson in Congress, Javier Merino, will dissect the new text of the recently approved Sports Law, while Sabrina Buljubasic (CEO FK Sarajevo) will accompany Marisol Casado to highlight the role of women in the direction and management of sports organizations.

Organized in the hybrid modality, face-to-face and via streaming, the ISC 2023 is held in the year prior to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, and will complete the extensive calendar of events that will make Madrid the reference point for international sport together with others such as the Mutua Madrid Tennis Open, the Spanish Golf Open, the Madrid Marathon, the Men’s Ice Hockey World Cup and the European Triathlon Championship.

The CEO of ISDE, Juan José Sánchez Puig, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Ángel Asensio, the dean of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), Eugenio Ribón, and the deputy president of LaLiga, Carlos del Campo , will participate, starting at 8:45 am, in the opening of the congress.

In addition, former soccer players Fernando Llorente and Luis Figo, the former captain of the Spanish rugby sevens team Patricia García and the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, will personally collect the ISC awards for Sports Career, Legend, Best Sportsman in Madrid and the Institutional Trajectory, respectively.

In previous editions, athletes and executives have received these ISC Awards, such as the best Spanish basketball player in history, Pau Gasol; the FC Barcelona footballer Alexia Putellas, double Ballon d’Or; the president of Atlético de Madrid, Enrique Cerezo; the Madrid City Council; FIFA President Gianni Infantino; the three-time boxing world champion, Joana Pastrana; the president of Real Valladolid, Ronaldo Nazario, and the former Olympic badminton champion Carolina Marín.
