Taylor Swift sweeps the Grammys and presents new album: 2.2 million likes in five minutes

Taylor Swift broke the Internet this morning when the singer announced her new album (The Tortured Poets Department) while collecting her thirteenth Grammy: her Instagram account collapsed after the album cover registered 2.2 million likes in just five minutes.

The singer for whom Joe Biden longs for help in his presidential campaign received his 13th Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album at Sunday's ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for his latest album Midnights, when he told the crowd he had a surprise for them.

“It's called The Tortured Poets Department. I'm going to go post the cover right now backstage,” he said. True to her word, minutes later she shared the cover of her next studio album, her eleventh, in which she is seen lying on a bed wearing black underwear and a transparent matching top: instantly, her Instagram page fell temporarily after collapsing.

Swift, 34, began her speech by sharing that it was her 13th win, a number she considers lucky. “Okay, this is my 13th Grammy. What's my lucky number. I don't know if I've ever told you that. I want to thank the members of the academy for voting this way, but I know that the way it is a direct reflection of the fans' passion.”

7 million likes in just one hour

Minutes after leaving the stage, the cover of the new album was shared on his Instagram, with this caption: “All's fair in love and poetry.. New album The Tortured Poets Department. Available April 19. He also posted a photo of a handwritten note that read: “And so I come into evidence / My tarnished shield / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and amulets / The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of black ink like the mouth of wolf / In love and poetry all is fair…

“Sincerely, the president of the Department of Tortured Poets,” she signed herself. The album announcement received more than 7 million likes in just one hour. Taylor took home the award for Best Pop Vocal Album after beating Kelly Clarkson (Chemistry), Miley Cyrus (Endless Summer Vacation), Olivia Rodrigo (Guts) and Ed Sheeran. Her latest album Midnights was released in 2022, it was her tenth original studio album. Fans are talking online that the singer will soon re-release her 2017 album Reputation.
