MADRID, 15 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Swiss soccer team tied (1-1) this Wednesday away from home against Israel, in a match corresponding to matchday 7 of the qualifying phase for the 2024 men’s Euro Cup, and which was postponed due to the Israeli Army’s war in the Gaza Strip.

Rubén Vargas put the Swiss ahead in the 36th minute, but Shon Weissman put the final tie in the 88th minute, according to a rather rough ending and where the Swiss Edimilson Fernandes was sent off with a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Dor Turgeman.

After this match, played at the Pancho Aréna in Felcsút (Hungary), Switzerland was jointly leading the group with Romania with 16 points. For its part, Israel remained in third place, now with 12 points and having linked this tie with the previous defeat (1-0) against Kosovo, in the other duel postponed due to the war in Gaza.
