MADRID, 19 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Super Amara Bera Bera defeated Costa del Sol Málaga (25-26) this Sunday in the final of the 2022 Spanish Super Cup, played at the Ciudad Jardín Sports Center in Málaga, to regain its dominance in a tournament that had resisted the last four years.
The team from Malaga started better, encouraged by their fans, but the current champions of the Iberdrola Guerreras League did not take long to react. Mercedes Castellanos kept the Costa del Sol, although the Basque attempts by Paula Arcos were increasing.
Both teams gave their all for the first title of the season, going 15-14 at halftime. The exchange of goals continued at the restart until the decisive moments arrived. Sole López, with defensive work and two consecutive goals, put the Andalusians ahead, but the Basque reaction was forceful.
Super Amara Bera Bera rallied to 22-25, with Mariane Fernandes as the standout, but Giuliana Gavilán appeared at the tie to break the tie and give the eighth Super Cup to the San Sebastian team.
