The English striker changes Manchester City for the London team
MADRID, 13 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
English striker Raheem Sterling became a new Chelsea player on Wednesday after leaving Manchester City this summer, the club to which he belonged since 2015.
The signing was already on everyone’s lips for a few days but this Wednesday it became official. “England star Raheem Sterling joins Chelsea from Manchester City on a five-year contract,” the Blues said.
The London player, with 77 games as a full international, returns to the capital as one of the best players in the Premier League, at 27 years old, with more than 10 goals in all his campaigns at City, where he won nine titles, including four leagues.
“First of all, it’s a pleasure to be here. I’ve achieved a lot in my career but I still have a lot to go too. I can’t wait to wear blue, under Thomas Tuchel. London is my home, where it all started, and it’s amazing to have the opportunity to play in front of my friends and family at Stamford Bridge,” Sterling said in his opening statement, which is reported on the Chelsea website.
