State Lotteries and Bets consolidates its commitment to national rugby

MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Rugby Federation (FER) and the State Lotteries and Bets strengthened the ties of their collaboration this Thursday, by which the public company, attached to the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, will continue to support Spanish rugby.

The agreement allows the company to consolidate its commitment to Los Leones and Las Leonas, with special support for the national teams of 7s in the Elche International Tournament, and the men’s XV team in its autumn window, in which it will face to Tonga and Namibia.

This agreement is included in the ‘Lotteries with Sport’ initiative, through which the public company collaborates each year so that the development of Spanish sport “continues to be a reality”. “The objective is to promote and spread the practice of sports, especially those sports that are less known to the general public. In addition, it collaborates so that its athletes have access to sports participation with equal opportunities and can continue to compete and generate success for all Spaniards,” they reported.

“Lotteries also work for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda which, linked to sport and society, allow progress in the firm commitment to health and well-being, gender equality, the reduction of inequalities
or quality education. Goals linked to the world of sport that bring us ever closer to a more egalitarian society with the same opportunities for all,” they added.

For its part, the Spanish Rugby Federation appreciates the unconditional support of Loterías y Apuestas del Estado to Los Leones and Las Leonas, and continues to work to strengthen the structure of sponsors with a view to starting up and achieving its projects for rugby national.
