Ada Hegerberg has returned in style. The Lyon striker scored a hat-trick on her return to the Lyon national team Norway for the first time since 2017. The player was instrumental in defeating Kosovo 5-1 in the tie for the world Cup this Thursday, while Sweden humiliated Georgia 15-0 in Tbilisi.
Despite the strong wind and snow, Hegerberg received a warm welcome when he entered the pitch for Norway after an absence of 1,719 days, and in 21 minutes he had scored, converting from a cross from Caroline Graham Hansen.
Two minutes later, she scored again, taking advantage of a pass from Julie Blakstad and midfielder Frida Maanum scored a third before the break.
Norway conceded their first goal of the season when Ereleta Memeti struck early in the second half, but Hegerberg scored her third goal late in the game to the delight of the 4,759 spectators who braved the weather to see her return.
It was replaced by Celin Bizet Ildushoey in the 76th minute, and scored from a penalty Hansen for a great performance from Norway. Fans are looking forward to Euro 2022 in July, where they will meet Northern Ireland, hosts England and Austria.
