Spain signs full of victories in the triangular of Italy

MADRID, 19 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s basketball team achieved a full victory this Sunday after defeating Italy (46-54) in the last match of the Cividale Tournament, thus achieving a full victory on their ‘Camino al Futuro’ tour.

The national team came out determined to achieve victory and soon established the first differences. The initial 5-14 was vital to appease the momentum of the Italians in a pavilion that was practically empty. Spain went further and had no problems to continue expanding its advantage.

The ease for the Spanish continued after a triple by María Conde (8-17), which continued with points by Maite Cazorla, María Araújo and Leo Rodríguez (14-25). The game was being a thing for Spain, very serious under the hoops and with the aim that his rival lacked.

In the last two quarters, Miguel Méndez’s team opted for a strong defense to maintain the lead, although Italy knew how to find its moment and replied with a 4-0 run. However, Spain continued to rule without suffering, even after a 5-0 lead at the end of the third round (29-39).

The best moment for the Italians was that final 42-49 that had no further consequences for Spain. A triple by María Araújo and a basket by Carrera served to pass judgment in favor of Spain (44-54) and leave the game more than resolved.

At the end of the match, Spain received its tournament champion trophy and María Conde received the distinction of MVP of the triangular. This ‘Camino al Futuro’ tour comes to an end and it does so with four wins in as many games.
