MADRID, 13 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men’s volleyball team added a new victory this Saturday in the qualifying phase for the 2023 European Championship, a 0-3 win over Georgia to extend the full victories before the transcendental duel on Wednesday against Slovakia.

Like three days ago in Teruel, the Spanish team prevailed in their visit to Tbilisi to the Georgian team with a resounding 9-25, 10-25, 17-25, without fail to secure the leadership and the direct ticket to the continental event within from Group F.

The European champion in 2007 won on Georgian soil thanks to an effective serve and a successful attack. Álvaro Gimeno repeated as top scorer, being the only one to exceed ten points. Those of Miguel Rivera overwhelmed in the first set.

Spain maintained the dynamic of the previous Wednesday and, despite playing at the New Volleyball Arena in Tbilisi, the local team had no response to Jordi Ramón’s serve. Equally forceful was the second set, while in the third the intensity of the RedLynxes dropped somewhat, but Gimeno led the awakening until the final 17-25.
