Spain has 15 medals in the Ibero-American Athletics Championship

Spain added a total of 15 medals, four gold, seven silver and four bronze, in the Ibero-American Athletics Championship that was held this weekend in the Brazilian town of Cuiabá (Brazil) and which helped it finish third in the points classification.

The Spanish team, made up of 28 athletes, was only surpassed in the number of metals by the host Brazil and accumulated 171 points behind the Brazilian and Colombian teams, and after more than half of the national athletes managed to get on the podium .

The four champions were Alejandro Quijada (3000 obstacles), Laura Priego (5000 m), Ilias Fifa (10 km route) and Aleix Pi (pole vault), while the silver medals were won by Andrea San José (pole vault), Paula Juárez and Álvaro López (20 km walk), Daniela Fra (400 mv), Diego Casas (discus), Miguel Baidal (10 km route) and Isidro Leyva (pole vault). Kevin Sánchez (110 mv), Alicia Berzosa (10 km route), Carlos Sáez (1500 m) and Paula Blanquear (100 m) completed the Spanish medal table in this event with their bronze medals.
