Spain goes with 11 runners to the European 100 km and 24 hours of Verona

BARCELONA, 13 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish long-distance athletics team will attend the IAU European Championship of 100 km and 24 hours, which will be held in the Italian town of Verona on September 17 and 18, with a total of eleven runners.

The RFEA national coach, José Peiró, has announced the list of athletes shortlisted for the competition, a total of eleven athletes –seven men and four women– to participate in the 100-kilometre test or the 24-kilometre hours.

Manel Neli and Juan Antonio Ramos will participate in the 100 kilometers while the 24 hours will be the work of José Antonio Castilla, Eduardo Cebrián, Nicolás de las Heras, Iván Penalba and Francisco Mariano Martínez.

In the women’s category, Carmen María Pérez will participate in the 100 km test while Alicia Antón, Eva María Esnaola and Isabel Sandoval will participate in the 24 hours.

The Verona circuit will be about 1.5 kilometers near the famous arena of the Italian city, known for the literary landmark of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare.
