MADRID, 18 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish XV men’s rugby team fell (3-41) this Saturday against Georgia in Torrelavega in the closing of Group A that ends as second, with the ticket secured in advance to play the semifinals of the Rugby Europe Championship 2023.
Spain will face off in ‘semis’ with the winner of Portugal-Romania this Sunday, on their way to the Badajoz Finals. Los Leones, supported by more than 4,500 people at the El Malecón Stadium in Torrelavega, couldn’t beat ‘Los Lelos’, who showed their superiority from the first minute.
Georgia demonstrated its status as current champion of the Rugby Europe Championship and in the 25th minute they were leading 3-15, thanks to three trials. Spain then signed their best minutes but without a prize, to close the first half with an even worse difference (3-22). In the second half, the visitors maintained the dominance script with MVP Vasil Lobzhanidze, with three more marks (3-41).
