MADRID, 11 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Madrid town of Serranillos de Valle hosts from this Friday 12 to Sunday 14 May the first Wheelchair Padel World Cup, in which Spain starts, due to its status as host, as the main favorite over Argentina, which a priori will be its great rival, and with Chile, Morocco, the Netherlands, Costa Rica and France completing the list of participants.

The Spanish team has been drawn in Group A and will begin its journey in the tournament facing Morocco, France and Costa Rica. This Friday he will debut against the Costa Rican team, while on Saturday he will face the French and the Moroccan. The other group, B, includes Argentina, the Netherlands and Chile.

Each confrontation between countries will be the best of three games to three ‘tie-break’ sets and without a golden point. The two group champions will meet in the final, while the runners-up will do so for bronze.

The members of the Spanish team summoned by David del Nido are Edorta de Anta, Topher Triviño, Óscar Agea, Francisco ‘Coco’ Bernal, Luis Peinado, Álvaro Garmilla, Marcos Cambronero and Iñaki Ramperez.

Óscar Agea said he felt “proud” for the organization of this World Championship, more than at a “sporting” than “social” level. “We hope that this is the way to continue growing and we are going to embrace the participating teams so that chair padel is global,” he confessed in statements provided by the FEDDF.
